Make your own all-natural lip balm in 2 minutes!

luscious, homemade lip balm you can make in the microwave using only two or three all-natural, healing, nourishing ingredients.

Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon beeswax
  • 10-20 drops of essential oil (optional)
Supplies
  • microwave-safe container (I used a PET plastic jar)
  • spoon or wooden chopstick

How to do it:
  • Place the coconut oil and beeswax into your container;
  • Put the container in the microwave;
  • Zapping time will vary depending on how intense your microwave is. I zap mine for 30 seconds at a time until the beeswax has almost completely melted;
  • Stir with a wooden chopstick or heat-safe spoon;
  • When cool enough to touch, add your essential oil (see below);
  • Allow to cool.

Choosing your essential oil:
My son has strep throat that spread into his mouth, causing cold and canker sores, inflammation, and dry, cracked lips. MY POOR BUBBY! His doctor put him on antibiotics, but his mouth will take some time to heal.

I noticed little cold sores forming on the corner of his very dry, cracked lips. Melissa (lemon balm) is a traditional and very effective remedy for cold sores. Check here for ideas on which essential oils are best for you.

That's it!
