I'm using the ingredients and instructions that I got with my TKB mineral makeup starter kit (read a review of this awesome kit here).
Color correctors are intended to cover specific problem areas on your face. For example, if you have a lot of redness, a green color corrector works best.
Here's an EXCELLENT, and very thorough blog post on color correctors by the Blonde Bombshell. I highly recommend reading this post, as it will give you an understanding of how the different colors work on the skin. The basic premise is that colors that are across from one another in the color wheel will neutralize or cancel each other out. This color corrector will be yellow, and is intended to cover purple/blue areas such as under-eye circles. As you can see on the chart, yellow is opposite violet.
Here's what the Blonde Bombshell has to say about yellow:
Yellow concealers are perfect for hiding purple or blue bruises, veins, and under eye circles, so it’s no surprise yellow is right across from purple on the color wheel. Yellow concealers are typically the most general, and are great for evening out skin tone to give a bright base for your foundation. Depending on your skin tone, they can also be a perfect as an eye shadow base if you don’t have a eye primer handy.

Ingredients
- 8 grams talc
- 4.25 grams titanium dioxide
- 2.25 grams yellow oxide
- a drop of jojoba oil
- scale
- coffee grinder or mortar and pestle (i use a coffee grinder because it's SOOOOOOO MUCH EASIER).
Instructions
- place all the ingredients into your blending container (coffee grinder or mortar);
- grind in the coffee grinder with short pulses for about 2 minutes, until your powder is very very fine. if you're using a mortar and pestle, grind for several minutes;
- squish all the powder into your final container (I'm using a sifter container);
- use it to fix all the purple spots on your face!
