looking for a makeup primer that will keep your makeup looking fresh all day
but NOT clog your pores?

try this diy primer!

this blend is intended to create a smooth base for your makeup,
keep moisture in,
and soothe and refresh the skin.

ingredients

  • carnation floral wax
  • sunflower oil
  • aloe vera gel (soothing and hydrating)
  • spearmint essential oil (refreshing)
all of these ingredients have a very low comedogenic rating (0 or 1 out of 5), meaning that they are lower in oleic acid and higher in linoleic acid and will not clog your pores. (the higher the rating, the more likely the ingredient is to clog your pores.)

how to make

  • melt the wax with the oil in a double boiler.
  • let cool until you can touch it comfortably.
  • add the aloe vera gel.
  • add a few drops of the spearmint oil.

how to use

after washing your face, apply a small amount and smooth it across your face.
let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes and then apply your makeup as usual.

this can also be used after shaving, dermaplaning, or anything else that irritates the skin. it soothes and calms any redness or itching.

it's very awesome and i love it.

about floral waxes

floral wax is a thin protective layer covering leaves and petals to keep moisture in and pollutants and irritants out.
after processing flowers for concretes and absolutes, a solid mass of this wax is left. the wax is fragrant and retains some of the benefits of the plant, including moisturizing phospholipids.
floral waxes can be used in cosmetics and lotions and etc. in place of bees wax. carnation is the only one i've tried, and i love it. it's not as thick as bees wax. the end product feels smoother and lighter. it smells SO GOOD.
