Hangover Cure Part 3: Wake Up/Feel Good Oil

Here's Part 3 of my Hangover series. See Part 1 here and Part 2 here.

It all started out so well.

A recap of the regimen:
  • Hangover Tea
  • Shower with Stimulating Bath Salts
  • Wake Up/Feel Good oil
  • Hangover Belly Rub oil
  • Multi-Vitamins

By now your tea is steeping, you've just gotten out of a stimulating, refreshing, wake-up shower, and it's time to massage some Wake up/Feel good oil into your skin.

This oil is for bloating, calming the nerves, calming nausea, and detoxing.

This recipe is for 2 ounces, which should last awhile if kept in the fridge. For carrier oil, I use sweet almond or sunflower, but you can use whatever you want. Be aware that some oils (like hemp and olive) have a deep smell of their own and essential oil blends tend to get lost in them.

The Recipe

Note: This recipe appears in Ms. Jeanne Rose’s Aromatherapy Herbal Studies Course.

Mix the following ingredients in a glass or PET container.

2 ounces sunflower or other carrier oil
20 drops Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica) essential oil
10 drops Rose Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) essential oil
5 drops Frankincense (Boswelii ) essential oil

Why it works

Frankincence EO from Man in the Moon Herbs
Cedarwood: Cedrus atlantica: helps with bloating, calming, balancing, tonic to the lymph system.

Rose Geranium: Pelargonium graveolens: good for anxiety and depression, uplifting, calming, liver and pancreas tonic, stimulates adrenal cortex and thyroid, helps with bloating, helps with memory loss (!!!).

Frankincense: Boswellia carterii: helps with bloating, good for nausea and digestion, calming, soothing, emotionally balancing. This is one of my favorite scents.

And then there's this: Your two breasts are like two fawns, twins of a gazelle, that feed amoung the lilies. Until the day breathes and the shadows flee, I will hie me to the mountain of myrrh and the hill of frankincense. (Song of Solomon)

Hie thee to the hill of frankincense, ladies!
