I'm editing this post to reflect the results, so no-one is operating under any illusions here. This regime did not end up working for me. I suspect a few things: perhaps the clogged follicles are not actually an issue for me; the salicylic acid may have caused my hair to become brittle and fall out and break easier; the soapnuts shampoo damaged my hair.
I'm not sure what it is, but here's a link to the conclusions.
With that caveat, please feel free to read this entire post! This regime may help you if you are indeed suffering from clogged scalp follicles.

Two months in. I really think it's working.
Here's my regime:
- Salicylic scalp toner each morning and evening
- Hemp oil on temples each evening
- Hemp oil rub on scalp every 2 or 3 nights
- Hot hemp oil treatment once this month
- Honey/Salicylic Acid hair mask once this month
See this post for a full description and the theory behind these treatments!
Left Column = before (March 23, 2013)
Center Column = April 22, 2013
Right Column = now (May 24, 2013)
What I Know:
- The strands at the front of my head are now 12 inches long (from 11.5 inches last month). They are still very fringy and thin;
- Overall, my hair feels springier and more voluminous;
- My hair feels healthy. The texture is slightly coarse, but it looks shiny and feels good;
- I think the part looks thinner, which means the hair's filling in up there;
- I really think the temples are filling in. YAY!!!!!!!!! I'm going to add another pic down here to show you how the baby hairs (vellus hairs) seem to be growing in thicker.
Baby (vellus) hairs on right temple are coming in thicker and growing longer |
MIRI
Sooo how is your hair now that it's a few months later? I'm dying to know if this works! I have such thin hair. I absolutely hatteeeeee it! God I hope this is still working for you :) Might have to try it!
