Southwest Fashion: It's More Than Turquoise!

Contemporary Southwest Fashion! It exists!!!!

Check out Jamie Lewinger's blog More Than Turquoise for proof of this. Her style is eclectic and luxurious and contemporary and I love it. I especially love how she showcases ornate, gorgeous pieces by wearing them with simple, streamlined garments. It's just so sophisticated, yet warm and approachable.

Love the simplicity of this outfit with the ornate necklace. So perfect.

I think the Southwest has a bad reputation for fashion. 

The rest of the world thinks we ONLY wear:

• boxy leather vests
• lots and lots of chunky turquoise jewelry
• bolos
• conch belts
• cowboy boots with everything
• fringe
• turquoise/orange color combos
• "navajo" prints
• saltillo stuff

We don't all dress like this out here!

None of these things is necessarily BAD, but it's a rather limited view of what actually goes on here.
