ANYHOW! We were blessed with yet another sunny day for our shoot, with fluffy clouds and the beautiful river. This shoot was a bit more challenging than the others for a couple of reasons: it's more wooded down there, so there was a lot more shadowing and there are more signs of human interference (metal barriers, chickenwire erosion-control mesh on the banks; more pedestrian traffic). But, being the consummate professionals we are, we toddled through! A couple of these photos have been brightened, but you can still definitely see the difference in light in the various settings we shot in, and the difference in color that resulted. Here's what we got:
The sun is coming in from the east, behind us. Acacia is facing the river to the west. The light is bouncing off all those river plants and creating a great situation for us. |
plant-holding. |
Look how different the coloring is here. The sun was partially behind a cloud, and there was no reflection at this spot from the green leaves closer to the river. |
Very pointy, brambly dressing room. |
Even though her face was in shadow, the sunlight reflecting off the leaves gives enough light. I LOVE this shot. |
Looking for an opening in the weeds! You can see the erosion-control chickenwire mesh in the lower right corner. |
One of my favorite shots of the day. |
Great angle for a bohemian-looking shot. Acacia looks BEAUTEOUS in this angle. |
Warrior Priestess Emerging from the shore! |
Here she comes. |
I photoshopped this one to add glow. I love it like this! |
Astonishing face here. She's so good. |
All done! And she's off to some cool music festival up in Colorado! MIRI |
